Currently I am writing this flying from St. Louis to Dallas returning from vacation! This past week has been amazing! I have found that resting is a difficult thing to do. This is a bad thing because God commands us to rest. We live in such a busy world that we often overlook this. My wife and I met our family for a few days at the beach! We were even able to spend most of the time on the beach before the oil hit. We had a blast, but more importantly had an even better time with our family! Be sure to take take time to rest. Afterall, God often uses that time to teach us.
Change is a unique thing. Some seek it while others fear it. Proof of this can be heard anything Facebook changes its format. For week, people will complain about the changes, all because it is different. I also know that we must change. All through scripture, people would change whenever they came in contact of Jesus. If you’re a Christian, you should be different than you were a year, a month, or even a week ago. We should constantly be growing by the grace that God has allowed us. Change isn’t always a bad thing.
Earlier this summer, 3 student ministries in Denison, TX gathered together at Faith Fellowship Baptist Church to teach about Jesus and have some water games. It is so important that we teach teenagers about the Church and not seperate churches. Afterall, we are all on the same team!
On July 14, 2007, exactly two years ago, I married the best woman in the entire world. It has been an amazing two years. I just wanted to say that I love my wife!
All our lives, we have been taught that it doesn’t matter what other people think about us. While I agree, for the most part, the church should not accept this teaching. It does matter what people think. If unbelievers view the church as judgemental, than we must do a better job of sharing God’s grace with others. Rather than judging the mistakes of others, we must show, by example, how to fall into a passionate relationship with Jesus. Once that happens, the Holy Spirit reveals faults. After all, I would prefer God to tell me my faults over anyone else. Just a thought.
The little things are what matter most in life. For example, if I want to surprise my wife, all it takes is making the bed without her knowing. In her words, “nothing is sexier than when my husband makes the bed!” This is also the case for living a Christ-centered life.
If we focus our lives to living the way Jesus called us to live, the “big stuff” would be no problem. If we focused on the little things like loving our neighbors, whenever a major crisis comes into our lives, we won’t be searching for what to do. We won’t have to shift our life. All we would have to do is to continue focusing on Christ, and everything else will settle. Do we focus on the little things? I think we should!
